toolsforschools.jpgBolton Schools Participates in "Tools for Schools" Indoor Air Quality ProgramRecently, the Bolton staff participated in two 3-hour training sessions on the State of CT Indoor Air Quality Program.  The trained staff, including administrators, custodians, teachers and parents will now participate in building walk-throughs to determine potential improvements in indoor air quality.  The following link explains the State's program: http://www.csiert.tfsiaq.com/

Greengreencleaninginfoforstaff.jpg Cleaning:  As concerns about chemicals in the environment grow, there is an effort to reduce the amount and type of chemicals people are exposed to every day. In light of this, a law was passed in 2009 by the CT legislature that requires schools to start a green cleaning program in the schools by July 2011.  Bolton schools are participating in the Green Cleaning initiative.  Please see parental information regarding this initiative.

Bolton is a Heartsafe Community: In April 2010 the Town of Bolton was designated as a Heartsafe Community.  Lifesaving AED machines are installed in the schools, town buildings and resident state troopers' vehicles.  Starting with the Class of 2012 every graduating senior will be required to pass the CPR/AED course.  We are proud to be one of many CT communities with this distinction.   Click here to review the map of CT Heartsafe Communities.
