It is a great honor to welcome you to the Bolton Public Schools, an award winning school district committed to excellence in education.  We celebrate and honor our long history of success that is fostered by the strong relationships that have been established between the Board of Education, administration, faculty, parents, and the community.  Our outstanding team of administrators and faculty in the Bolton Public Schools is committed to engaging in collaborative work with families to continuously improve our efforts focusing on challenging and supporting our students. 

Every organization needs a road map to advance from where it is now to where it wants to be in the future.  The Bolton Public Schools Strategic Plan for 2015 – 2020 is our road map and builds on past district successes while facing new systemic challenges head-on.  The Strategic Plan outlines the core values, beliefs, and student outcomes of the district. We believe:

  • Quality education is an indispensable community investment for the future of students and society.
  • Quality education is a partnership that requires commitment, communication, and collaboration among the student, family, school and the community
  • All students are valued and have the right to an education that meets their academic, physical and social/emotional needs.
  • It is important for students to recognize and value excellence.
  • High expectations and shared accountability are essential for the success of each student.

The Strategic Plan, which contains four clear goals for 2015 - 2020, is the driving force for the district’s actions.  It guides all planning, fiscal decision-making, and student achievement efforts.

Goal 1

All students will apply critical thinking to the construction and critique of arguments.

Goal 2

All students will read, write, produce, and speak grounded in evidence for a variety of purposes and audiences and utilize collaboration and digital literacy skills to enhance communication.

Goal 3

All students will use a variety of research tools to access, evaluate, synthesize and apply information effectively.

Goal 4

All students will see problems as opportunities, approaching twenty-first century challenges with ethical leadership, boldness, creativity, and responsible citizenship.    

This focus on the continuous improvement of student learning creates a rich and diverse learning environment at all levels of our educational organization filled with innovation, collaboration, and excellence.  As a result, our students master rigorous grade level standards while developing core thinking and learning competencies and engaging in powerful, real-world learning experiences necessary for success in college, careers, and as global citizens. 

We are proud of the many achievements of our students in academics, the arts, and athletics and encourage our students to discover their individual talents and interests through participation in our extracurricular offerings and community service experiences.  Our schools foster an environment focused on respect, responsibility, and compassion for others to maximize academic engagement and achievement for all students.
